Who we are

Technoform is a family business that was founded in 1969 and now has over 1500 employees worldwide. As a manufacturer of thermoplastic profiles, we offer an immense range of tailor-made solutions and standard applications made from technical plastic.

Our unique high-precision extrusion method enables us to form extremely complex plastics – including those that are normally only suitable for injection moulding. We take pride in being able to supply products with outstanding technical properties that far exceed normal expectations: extremely smooth surfaces, uniquely sharp contours, very low tolerances, the utmost precision and a variety of material characteristics that plastic solutions are not normally able to offer. We extrude compounds with short and long fibres such as glass, carbon and minerals – even with high filler content.

What we do

We find solutions. Since our foundation, we have consistently grown with our customers. We now operate more than 55 production and sales sites worldwide. With comprehensive know-how and technical expertise, we are a reliable business partner and problem-solver for a variety of industries.

Our products range from thermally optimized solutions for high performance insulating glass, favored by architects, building planners, and glazing manufacturers, as well as a wide range of insulating profiles for aluminum windows, doors and facades. Technoform also supplies high-precision customer designs and components for various sectors: the automotive and aircraft manufacturing industries, electrical engineering, and heat recovery, for example.

How we think and act

1969: Karl-Hans Caprano and Erwin Brunnhofer found a company that produces and distributes precise and accurate thermoplastic profiles. Where: Fuldabrück near Kassel. Slogan: Precision in Plastic.

1970: First factory opening. Production begins in September with demister profiles made from polystyrene, surface profiles for skis made from ABS and tread profiles from polyethylene.

1975: Application for the first PPZ I processing patent developed by Technoform. This was the first of over 120 further national and international patents filed to this day.

1987: Organization restructure: in place of a functionally oriented company, customer-oriented business partners are introduced, bringing with them process chains as a working model.

1991: Diversification: the various endeavors of the Technoform Caprano + Brunnhofer oHG are split into separate divisions in order to concentrate on their core competencies.

Technoform Kunststoffprofile plastic profiles

1993: Technoform Kunststoffprofile GmbH is founded to develop and produce high-precision plastic profiles, tailor made to clients’ needs.

1994: The Technoform Bautec Group becomes an international provider of insulating strips for the thermal break of aluminum windows, doors, and facades, branching out into Spain, Italy and Japan.
