Beijing City Library
The remarkable Beijing City Library building comprises of 276 pieces of jumbo-sized glass, each measuring an impressive 15.4m in height and 2.6m in width.
Not only is the spacer used in the insulating glass units (IGUs) required to fulfil thermal performance requirements, it is also crucial to consider the capability of the spacer in withstanding significant pressures exerted during the pressing process in the production of IGU.
The project is the winner of 2024’s Public Library of the Year Award, awarded by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).
