I have shamelessly taken the title for this blog from the recent Façade Tectonics Institute (FTI) virtual forum event which took a dive into the issues related to building energy simulation. The event was driven by the FTI Advocacy committee, and curated by FTI members Hamid Vossoughi (WSP Canada) and Stéphane Hoffmann (Morrison Hershfield), with a goal of collecting best practices and identifying known pitfalls. With effective building simulation both critical to code compliance and to closing the known performance gap between as-built and as-simulated building designs, we noted several key takeaways from the discussions...to continue reading click here.
